The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation ‘The 20th New Life Concert’ A Success

The WeLoveU Foundation held a New Life Concert
On Dec. 02, 2019, Intl. WeLoveU Foundation held ‘The 20th New Life Concert’. The New Life Concert is a large-scale charity event held every year since its first concert at the Jeongdong Event Hall in 2000. Through the concert, the WeLoveU foundation conveys a warm heart like the arms of a mother to those suffering not only in Korea but throughout the whole world.
The concert was attended by more than 8,500 people. And with the special meaning for the 20th concert, congratulatory messages poured in from people in all walks of life and added to the fervor of this festival.
The audience arrived 2 hours before the event, and while watching the Intl. WeLoveU foundation introduction video on the jumbo monitor was able to look back on the past. At 7 PM, the first half of the event, the donation delivery ceremony with announcer Kim Byeong-Chan began.
The New Life Children’s Choir and special guests perform the WeLoveU song together on stage at the New Life Concert.

New Life Concert making the world a warmer place
In her opening statement, the WeLoveU Foundation Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah said, “It has been twenty years have already passed since we started helping our global neighbors with their hardships through the New Life Concert. The WeLoveU Foundation will do its best to comfort and fill the hearts of all people with songs of love that will ring throughout the world, so our small efforts can contribute to making the world a warmer and more peaceful place.” “As the morning comes after the dark night, this world is not just dark and troublesome. I hope the pain and suffering you’ve experienced until now, you can put aside for a while, sing the song of love together and together rise up towards a bright and hopeful future.
The second half of the event was hosted by actor, Kim Seong-hwan. The concert started with the song and dance of the ‘New Life Children’s Choir’, who are like the Int’l WeLoveU mascot, along with the singers and opera singers, who took to the stage.
The first performer was singer, Lee Yong who uplifted the atmosphere by singing ‘Forgotten Season’, which then opened the stage for amazing opera vocalist performances.
Soprano Professor Park Mi-hye, lead Soprano Kang Min-sung, and Baritone Oh Yoo-seok, one after another captivated the audience. Songs such as, ‘You raise me up’, ‘Beautiful Country’, ‘Volare’, and others, received thunderous applause for their sweet and beautiful melodies.
Singer, Lee Seung-hoon who is an honorary ambassador of the Int’l WeLoveU Foundation presented lyrical warmth by playing guitar and singing songs such as “A Rainy Street”, and “WeLoveU”. Singer Yoon Tae-gyu promised to “continue to work with the Int’l WeLoveU Foundation until the day when the world’s population suffering from poverty and sickness becomes 0%.”
The concert finale was singer, Jung Su-ra. This year too, without exception, Jung Su-ra’s energy and powerful stage manner put on a phenomenal show which made the audience go wild.
She said, “The concert I’m always waiting for when it comes to the end of the year, is the New Life Concert. I’ve performed at many charity concerts but this concert is the one I want to come back to over and over again. One day, I will participate in volunteer services with you and help share in our neighbors’ hardships together.”
Through this event, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation will be able to support living expenses and medical expenses for 211 multicultural family households and underprivileged families in Korea and help victims of typhoons in Uljin, Yeongdeok, and Samcheok. Overseas, the Foundation will offer support to refugees, victims and socially disadvantaged groups in 18 countries including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Jordan, Chile, Bolivia, and Mozambique.
In Particular, Uljin, Yeongdeok, and Samcheok, suffered much damage by typhoon Mitag last October and were designated as special disaster areas but the damage restoration has been slow due to an unreasonable lack of funds. With the addition of the cold weather, the suffering of the victims is increasing so WeLoveU’s support would be of great help to them.
